I started working with India's road transport digital infrastructure in 2013, back when VAHAN 4.0 was barely functional and Sarathi was a state-by-state patchwork of disconnected systems. Over the following decade I documented, tested, and wrote about how these portals evolved — the transition to the unified national database, the eChallan rollout, and the 2019 Motor Vehicles Act amendments that finally made digital documents legally valid.

I built Parivahansewas.com after watching friends and family pay agents ₹500–₹2,000 for tasks that take 15 minutes online. Everything published here is based on first-hand portal testing, official MoRTH circulars, and the Motor Vehicles Act — not rewritten from other guides.

I update content whenever the portal workflows change. If you find something outdated or incorrect, write to me — I take accuracy seriously.

Our Mission

Why This Site Exists

Parivahan Sewa gives every Indian citizen free, direct access to road transport services — no agent, no queue, no middleman. But the portal is not always easy to navigate. Procedures change. Error messages go unexplained. Information is scattered across different sub-portals.

This site exists to close that gap: plain-language explanations, step-by-step guides, official links, and honest answers to the questions people actually search for.

Accurate & Verified

Every guide is based on live portal testing and official MoRTH sources. We link to government pages, not third-party summaries.

No Agents, No Fees

We never charge for information and never recommend paid intermediaries. Every service described here is free to do yourself online.

Built for Everyone

Written for first-time applicants and regular commuters alike — in plain English, without assuming prior knowledge of government portals.

Independence

Our Relationship with the Government

Parivahansewas.com is entirely independent. We have no affiliation with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the National Informatics Centre (NIC), any Regional Transport Office, or any other government body.

We do not represent Parivahan Sewa, VAHAN, Sarathi, or eChallan. We are a private information resource that guides citizens toward official government services. All transactions happen on official government portals — never here.

Always verify: Portal procedures and fee structures change. Confirm current requirements at parivahan.gov.in before submitting any application.

If you have a complaint about a government service, contact the official Parivahan helpdesk at helpdesk-vahan[at]gov.in or helpdesk-sarathi[at]gov.in. We are not able to resolve RTO or portal issues on your behalf.
